Mohammad Ali Vadood, the designer of unisex chisel was selected for the industrial design section of the 2022 international kioskedia award 2022 to solve the problem of women interested in the art of carving by inventing a chisel kit with an adjustable handle.
Since the historical tendency of manufacturers to make chisels and various tools is to only suit the characteristics of men's hands,
and practically no attention is paid to the different conditions of women's hands and skeletons in the ergonomics of tools, there is always a need for a practical idea in making tool handles.
On the other hand, mass production of tools suitable for women may not be justified, because many jobs are still considered masculine and the target market is still aimed at men according to a historical trend.
So what should be done for those women who are trying to develop their talents in the most difficult conditions?
Our main challenge in this research was to find a way for a woman or a teenager or even a man to arrange the tool handle in maximum harmony with their skeletal and muscular characteristics.
And of course, we have come up with the best possible solution with the idea of adjustable length and diameter of the tool handle, the result is magical.
And it solves the problem of women interested in the art of wood carving in the best way.
