With the participation of the Tourism Commission and affiliated businesses of the Iranian Chamber
The Iranian Traditional and National Arts Committee began its work as the pioneer of the traditional arts community with the aim of spreading the model of cultural values and creating cultural vitality within the Tourism Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting of the Tourism and Affiliated Businesses Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce was held at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce with the agenda of reviewing the proposal of the Woodwood Arts Institute regarding the establishment of the Iranian National Arts Committee. The meeting was attended by Alireza Bigdali, Deputy Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Ali Rajabi, Head of the Traditional Arts and Handicrafts Department of the Academy of Arts, Hossein Yavari, University Professor, members of the Tourism Commission, the head and members of the Woodwood Institute, and a group of other activists in the field of handicrafts. Ali Akbar Abdolmaleki, Head of the Tourism Commission, welcomed the proposal and became a member of the National Arts Committee.
In this meeting, he emphasized the advisory role of the specialized commissions of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce in government decision-making and said: "Although various committees are active in the Tourism Commission, including the Handicrafts Committee, from today, the National Arts Committee will also be active alongside these committees, far from working in parallel."
Alireza Bigdali, Deputy Consular Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also mentioned the importance of art diplomacy in this meeting and stated: "What we desperately need today is art diplomacy, and our country's soft power needs this category. Because the more a nation and country establishes cohesion with the nations and countries around it and the world, the more powerful it will be."
He continued by announcing the Foreign Ministry's support for the formation of a national arts committee.
Dud: By forming such a committee, the promotion of national arts abroad and among nations will be more cohesive.
Mohammad Ali Rajabi, head of the Traditional Arts and Handicrafts Department of the Academy of Arts, welcomed the formation of the National Arts Committee at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saying: "This idea will definitely succeed with the cooperation of the Academy of Arts and the Tourism Commission of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. I hope we can expand all aspects of tourism centered on Iran, so that in addition to cultural works, we will witness economic benefits from this movement."
Hossein Yavari, a professor at the university, also said: "Currently, there are at least 258 disciplines in traditional Iranian arts, and many individuals and artists are engaged in them and earn income through their activities. The formation of this committee can be a great help in the development and growth of these activities."
Mohammad Ali Vadood, the designer of the National Arts Committee, also addressed the phenomenon of "generational migration" and said: "Unfortunately, today we are faced with a generation from the 80s and 90s who, although their educational and training expenses are in Iran, their thoughts, dreams, and concerns belong outside Iran. Therefore, something must be done for the country's culture and art before it is too late."
He added that after the formation of the national committee, we will have two missions. First, to create a center of attraction; meaning that we try to attract people's attention to invest more in this field by creating benefits for people at the national and international levels. Second, to create prestige for this committee. In this regard, our goal is to create a World Confederation of National Arts and before that, the ECO Federation of National Arts. By forming these international institutions, a broad competitive arena like the Olympics will be formed for traditional and national arts.
