Forming a Technology Development Working Group in Handicrafts; A Strategic Action in the Digital Age and Metaverse Civilizations

The Working Group for Technology Development in Handicrafts was formed with the aim of linking Iranian handicrafts with modern technologies and strengthening their position in the digital age by order of the country's Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts.

According to Miras Aria, Maryam Jalali, Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts, said: "The formation of the Technology Development Working Group in Handicrafts is a strategic step in the digital age and metaverse civilizations in order to achieve the transformation of the Iranian handicraft ecosystem and with the aim of effectively linking this cultural heritage with modern technologies."

She added: This working group has officially begun its activities with the mission of compiling a "Digital Governance Document for Handicrafts" and developing technological platforms such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (XR), and the tokenized economy.

Jalali emphasized: “The tokenization economy, as one of the key axes of this transformation, will provide new opportunities for intellectual property, smart commercialization of handicrafts, and sustainable value creation in metaverse environments. This economy will enable the conversion of handicrafts into digital assets (NFTs) and create a transparent and decentralized infrastructure for trading, ownership, and protection of Iranian artistic heritage on a global scale.”

Also, through a order issued by Maryam Jalali Dehkordi, Deputy Minister of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts, Mohammad Ali Vadood was appointed as the person responsible for forming and secretary of the Technology Development Working Group in Handicrafts.
